2022 19&Under Coach Reports

Round 2

For the first half of the game, our execution killed us and it showed, with only 5 inside 50m in the 1st quarter and 1 in the 2nd. Tackles were not sticking and West Preston - Lakeside ran all over us especially around the width of the oval.
In the second half we improved our intensity around the ball and we were able to get the inside 50m up to 18 which gave our forwards something to work with. We will need to work on our disposals both by hand and foot during training next week.

Round 1

Our focus this year was to attract the best local talent with strong character that aligned with the Bundoora Football Club values.
We could not be more delighted with our squad for the 2022 season. We have a well-balanced team that has quickly formed a strong bond together and have put together a solid preseason that has us excited for the challenges of Round 1 against West Preston.
The club has formed a strong coaching group focused on development that includes Dave Callaway and Rob Bolzon as Co-Coaches with assistance from Nipper Marshall, Paul King, and Darren Collins - that's nearly 2000 games of experience to be shared. We have also been fortunate to secure the service of Adrian Ordemond (Trainer) and Graham Campbell (Team Manager).
Our Co-Coaches are bullish for the 2022 season:
Dave Callaway stated "We have worked hard over the preseason to ensure our new recruits can embrace the club and I am delighted how well the team has come together. Our top age U19's have been excellent in supporting the new players. Our coaching staff have invested significant time in attracting and retaining players and I am excited to work with this group of fine young men".

Rob Bolzon stated "We have had a great preseason and we have learnt alot in our preseason practice games. We used the practice games to test players in a range of positions and we have been impressed with the agility and flexibility of the playing group. A couple of U19 players have had the opportunity to play in the Seniors already and they have relished the experience.

Bundoora are pleased to announce the U19's Leadership Group for the 2022 season.

James Mefflin has been appointed as Captain for the season and will be supported by Vice Captains Jace Zahra, Bryce Barnes Sanderson, Josh Collins and Harry Butterworth (not pictured).

James said “We feel honored and privileged to be in the leadership group and are looking forward to the 2022 season. Brent Marshall and Luke Collins are great Senior leaders and we will learn heaps from these club legends”.

Co-coaches Rob Bolzon and Dave Callaway said “We have a number of fine young leaders at the club. The U19’s leadership group deserve their opportunity and we are confident they represent the virtues of the club and will be exceptional leaders.

James has demonstrated leadership qualities equally on and off the field in multiple years. James will lead a talented, strong and committed side.”
